In the article Why Mass Shootings Keep Happening by Tom Junod, he argues that mass shootings can not be stopped. Junod firsts implements his position on mass shootings by stating a set of rhetorical questions; then he uses imagery by providing an example of what goes through the mind of a person who commits the gun crime; lastly, he gets the audience thinking about how a shooting can be stopped by using a series of repetition. The purpose of Junod writing this article is to analyze if it is possible to stop mass shootings in order to show that guns are not the problem, people are. His intended audience are gun  violence activists so they understand that trying to take away guns wont solve anything only because it is the people doing the killing.
